The Community Property meeting was well attended and guests shared different options for the soccer field.
One idea that garnered support was for creating a monarch butterfly garden in the area. The following is a quick list of available grants for such a project: (http://www.ehow.com/list_6046975_grants-youth-community-gardens.html)
Grants for Youth Community Gardens
Children’s gardens have become a popular addition to many school yards and community parks because of the No Child Left Inside initiative and a growing awareness that most children spend too much time indoors. If your organization would like to develop a garden for young people in your community, you may be able to obtain to a grant to cover the cost of seeds, plants, gardening tools and other materials.

Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation
Community youth groups are eligible to apply for Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation grants starting at $5,000 to assist in the development of a new public garden or enhancement of an existing one. Lowe's will consider a variety of outdoor projects, including educational gardening programs, nature trails and parks that benefit a whole community. Higher preference is given to communities with a Lowe’s home improvement store or distribution center because the company's employees may volunteer to help with the project. Grants are provided throughout the year, but organizations must take Lowe’s online eligibility quiz before submitting an application.
