First Day of Summer, 1 inch of snow blankets High South June 21st is the longest day of the year and thus the first day of summer. It is time to set the sundials and get ready for summer vacation. In High South Glastonbury the gathering light of dawn revealed one inch of fresh, wet snow blanketing the landscape. The temperature was a cool 34 degrees and the skies were grey and overcast. Garden flowers drooped while the spruce trees looked stately.
Just 10 days ago High South received four inches of snow.
The weather is slated to improve by the weekend. Soon the warmest and driest months of the year will be here; July and August. The sun will shine bright and warm every day and Paradise Valley will live up to it's name.
