The law specifically "Grandfathers" many landowners as described by Senator Bogner in a Billings Gazette article at:https://billingsgazette.com/opinion/columnists/guest-opinion-sb-protects-montanans-individual-property-rights/article_a20a4f5c-d30e-574f-bfa3-98822a3aca43.html
Obtaining the benefits of SB 300 is a simple process. Here is what my wife and I did: 1. Notify the GLA Board of our intent to claim the benefits of SB 300, as referenced in the law. We did this by email. 2. Develop simple recordable document declaring the statute applied to our land in Glastonbury, sample text below. 3. Have our signatures on the document notarized. 4. Record in Park County Clerk and Recorder’s office, at a cost of $17.00
That’s it.
Not sure what your Lot information is - search Montana records at svc.mt.gov/msl/mtcadastralNOTE: Attachments listed below are only accessible by Forum registered members. They are identical to the above links in blue that may be accessed by anyone.

Have You Claimed Your SB 300 Exemption Yet? The above post by Leo Keeler has been read over 500 times! It discusses a bill that is now Montana law. It applies to all HOA's and LOA's in Montana including Glastonbury. Recently, several Glastonbury landowners have taken the first step by emailing the GLA Board and notifying them that they intend to take advantage of SB 300 and claim an exemption for their Glastonbury parcel. People who have owned property in Glastonbury since before February of 2007 have the most to gain with an exemption. Their property will no longer be encumbered by the Master Plan. That will immediately increase the value of their property by allowing them to possibly subdivide their parcel, build bigger buildings and have more flexibility when developing their property. After the GLA Board is notified, a form must be filled out, notarized and filed at the County courthouse in Livingston. The exemption remains in effect until the property is sold.
