Candidate Updates for 2022 GLA Annual Election Some of the candidates for the 2022 GLA Annual Election are now known to the Forum. In North Glastonbury, incumbent Claudette Dirkers is seeking re-election. Directors Charlotte Mizzi, Newman Brozovsky, and Gerald Dubiel are not allowed to run again because of Term Limits passed by the voters in 2021. But they could be appointed to fill a new board vacancy. We also know that landowner Joe Bezotsky is a North Glastonbury candidate.
In South Glastonbury, several litigants in the Dissolution lawsuit team are running for the GLA Board. Dennis Riley, Mark Seaver, and Jeffrey Ladewig, all litigants in a current lawsuit seeking to divide or dissolve the Glastonbury Landowner's Association (GLA) are candidates. They are joined by current director and litigant Andrea Sedlak who is seeking another term. Jerry Ladewig, another Dissolution litigant and current director, is running for the position of South Glastonbury Ombudsman. At the very least their candidacies represent an existential threat to the GLA and present a huge conflict of interest. How can one promise to serve all landowners while seeking to divide or destroy the organization they are asking to be elected to?
In the past landowners have rejected candidates who previously sued the GLA. Will they reject the Dissolution litigants as well?
One Dissolution litigant has refused to run in 2022; John McAlister.
Several other landowners have filed Nomination forms but may be disqualified due to clerical errors. When the final list of candidates is available we will publish it.
