Petition for a GLA Special Meeting of the Members Several landowners have sent us a copy of a petition circulating in Glastonbury. The petition calls for "three special meetings of members within 40, 80, and 120 days (respectively) following the date of this petition submission to the GLA Board; all of which special meetings must allow participating meeting members (excluding GLA Directors) the opportunity to create or propose amendments to the GLA Bylaws and Covenants only for such specific purpose to substantially reduce, minimize, curtail, diminish, or else eliminate, as those members see fit, any or all discretionary powers of the GLA Board of Directors as are now implied or granted within its current governing documents". The Forum spoke with several landowners regarding the petition. Val O'Connell stated that "the petition is being circled in at least four groups.". She went on to say results "look promising, but we still need to get the word out to more people outside these groups". Signed petitions may be sent to: PO Box 56 Emigrant, MT 59027
The Forum has not studied this proposal thoroughly so we are not offering any commentary yet. We urge all readers to post comments below. We will keep you posted of further developments.
