2016 GLA Board Election Packet Now Available
Nominations are now being accepted for the GLA Board. You may vote by absentee ballot or in person at the Annual meeting in Emigrant Hall on November 12th, 2016. Results will be announced towards the end of the meeting.
Many landowners view the current GLA Board as a shadow organization that prefers to do business in secret and behind closed doors. Several GLA Board meetings have been held in President Charlotte Mizzi's living room where landowners were denied physical access. Landowner 's Constitutional rights, specifically their right to Free Speech, are under constant attack. Documents that concern all landowners are routinely denied to those who make official requests. Information that should be shared with all landowners such as Minutes and Financial documents were often stamped "Confidential" and prohibited from further distribution. Currently the GLA Board is attempting to limit landowner's First Amendment rights by prohibiting photography at monthly meetings.
Not surprisingly the GLA has problems attracting and retaining good Board Members. However if you have the courage to truly represent all landowners, can respect the US Constitution, have an almost infinite patience and can deal with mountains of talk we encourage you to consider running for the GLA Board. It is difficult to imagine that the Board could get more dysfunctional than it currently is. So your election will hopefully make a difference for the better.
