Claudette Dirkers for North Glastonbury Director
I am honored to have Charlene Murphy, the GLA Board Secretary, and a director with many decades of experience, to nominate me for the GLA Board. I look forward to serving our community with her and learning from her experiences. Charlene's support and appreciation for what I can bring to the board, is very much valued.
My name is Claudette Dirkers. Having lived in the area for some thirty years, I have a keen sense of its history, and our potential to create real community with the GLA.
For the last few years, I have attended nearly every board and committee meeting. Furthermore, I am a board appointed member of five committees, along with being a North Glastonbury snowplowing coordinator.
That said, I am aware of just how much our association must begin to operate professionally, and in the interest of all landowners.
Based on my experience, I am ready to move from being a dedicated, full-time board volunteer, to a full-time dedicated director, able to vote on significant GLA issues.
I come with previous board experience, along with well-honed managerial skills. I am computer-savvy and detail-oriented. I am an experienced writer and editor. Perhaps, most importantly, I am a critical thinker and researcher. I dig for the truth. I will make it my focus to listen to all landowners and act upon their concerns.
As a GLA director, my first priority, among a long list of road issues, will be to mitigate the ever-worsening washboard problem. Next, is to find the most cost-effective way to maintain our North Glastonbury paved road. Presently, only slightly more than half of our assessments go to road maintenance at all.
In closing, I ask for your vote either before, or at the GLA Annual Meeting on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017.
Thank you, Claudette

Do you know that at this time all NG directors are affiliated with the same church? And now let me state right away that I really don’t care about anyone’s church or religious affiliation. But what I do care about is the fact that the NG directors frequently vote as a block and along party lines. They exhibit a group-think mindset that appears beholden to a Shadow Board and makes them unable to understand and equitably serve the best interests of all GLA members. If, like me, you believe that the NG directors need to begin to think and act freely and with their own minds, then you need to vote for Claudette.
Claudette attends nearly every board and committee meeting and is thus well informed about GLA matters. The current board has appointed her to serve on five committees, which calls for a greater commitment of time than many of the sitting directors give. Our GLA Secretary Charlene Murphy nominated Claudette for a board position. This endorsement says a lot.
We need Claudette on the board because she has the skill set and time to serve GLA well. She is detail-oriented, good with computers, and an accomplished writer. She gives freely of her time and loves to research and dig for the truth.
To make sure your vote counts for Claudette and that she gets more votes than any of the opposition, I ask you to cast only one of your three votes and vote only for Claudette. If you use your other two votes you will be supporting those who oppose her bid for a seat on the board. Yes, I know, that means you are throwing away two of your votes, but unusual times call for unusual measures.
GLA needs a director with the skill set and dedication that Claudette possesses. Please vote for her.

I wholeheartedly agree with Friend’s evaluation of Claudette’s qualifications to be a Board member. That is why I, along with another landowner, sent out our endorsement of Claudette.
She is all the above and more! She is very gracious to everyone who attends the Board meetings as well as all of the committee meetings. Exceptionally prepared - having researched the issues at hand! Free thinker is correct in saying we need fresh ideas and people who are willing to give their time and energy to put forward ideas and solutions to problems that have plagued this community for to long! Just take into consideration the cleaning of culverts that have not been cleaned in over 20 years for heaven’s sake!! This was initiated in large part by Claudette and her continuing concern for our roads. I ask you where has the previous road committe been all these years???
Unlike the others running for NG, Claudette is not reactionary but proactive in her thinking. She doesn’t wait until there is a problem but anticipates problems because of her research of the issues.
Any landowner in NG would be a fool not to vote for Claudette...it would be a complete waste of a vote if you voted for anyone other than Claudette!! Some others have been on the Board for years...what have they accomplished??

Dear North Glastonbury Landowners,
Our community's election for new directors to the GLA Board will occur on December 2, 2017, in about three weeks from today.
I wanted to extend a personal invitation to each of you to attend the Annual Election Meeting, should you be inclined. It would be lovely to meet you, hear your questions and concerns, along with any
ideas you may have to make Glastonbury a better place to live. I will work tirelessly to listen to all of your concerns, and to bring them to the GLA Board with an open mind, while maintaining
