Kevin Newby for South Glastonbury Director
My name is Kevin Newby.
I have been on the board of directors now for 3.75 yrs. I want to be able to continue serving our community. I believe we need to run the GLA like a business. Because it is a business. That to me is being open & honest in all situations. Having folks be accountable for their actions & promises. I also have the feeling that I work for all landowners.
I will continue to work with the Project Review & Election Committees. I also will keep pushing for collections on due assessments. I am not in favor of raising assessments until we are actively collecting past due assessments. I am in favor of publishing the information of those long time delinquent accounts over 2 years that are not on a payment plan in our newsletter.
A lot of good things have happened during my time on the Board. I feel I am the main driver on some of those things. The County is now maintaining Dry Creek Road. (It is their road) The guardrail repair on Capricorn was paid for by the insurance company of the driver responsible. We now have e-mail communications. (Sign up for it). We have made major strides with Project Reviews and are now working for ALL landowners. (Not just the Project Review applicant) We now have a definitive cutoff date for landowners in good standing to be able to vote at the annual election. (We are run like a business).
I would like your vote so I can keep working for you, the landowner. Come to the annual meeting. I will be cooking hot dogs and hamburgers. This should be a fun time for all landowners. (Who knows, you might have fun) I am proud to live here.

Kevin is one of the most hard working Board members we have.
I’m so impressed with his attention to detail in gathering information and making sure that our covenants and master plan are adhered to as equitable as possible. He has listened to other’s suggestions and weighed them against our governing documents. He has taken favouritism out of the Project Review Committee and brought professionalism to the Board and the committee’s he is on.
Finally!! The rampant disregard of our governing documents is over in large part is due to Kevin’s tirelessness in doing the “right thing” for ALL landowners equally. Kevin, along with Dennis and Mark, have brought to this Association a higher professional standard, with a more fair and equitable treatment for ALL landowners not just the ones who were living here first and feel entitled to control its governance.
I’m so impressed with Kevin’s organizational skills and professionalism it gives me hope that at some point that this Corporation will in fact be run by and for everyone equally under Corporate law and best business practices!! Kevin has done more in his short tenure than I’ve seen other Board members in the past, where things were done in a less than fair way. Run by how board members “felt” rather than by the Governing Documents that they themselves may have had part in the development. If not themselves at the very least the organization they belong to created these documents.
There are those still around who do not like or want to see Kevin re-elected because he is ethical and fair to all. These people are NOT PROFESSIONAL and do not want to be held accountable to best business practices. I personally have been lied to by several past Board members that wouldn’t and don’t know or care about the meaning of the word “ethical.” And it bothers them that Kevin shines light on their hypocrisy. Give him an assignment and it gets accomplished.
He is a breath of fresh air to a stale and at times corrupt system of people with conflicts of interest. Kevin has my vote and it says a lot about the people who don’t want him on the Board.

Hello-Sally said it so well. Kevin is bright, cheerful, and willing to do the work that needs to be done. He is a logical thinker and encourages to see Gla. issues in a like manner. He believes in equal treatment for all, and even application of the governing documents. Under his leadership the Project Review system has been much improved. He is a good voice for all and deserves our votes of support.
