How to reply to a post
You just read someone's post and you really want to share your thoughts. But you are new to the Forum and are not quite sure how to post a reply. Here are some simple (hopefully) instructions.
- Open a new window in your browser by clicking here.
- In the new browser window the Forum will appear. Go to the post that you wish to reply to and look below it.
- Keep this window open so you can switch between these instructions and your reply.
- Click the "Blue Reply" button below the original post to create a reply to someone's post.
- That will bring up a "Create Post" window. It will say "Create Post" on the green bar at the top of the window.
- Cut and Paste or write your post in the white space. The buttons below the "Create Post" green bar are for formatting. When you have time, experiment with them. They offer a lot of options but require a learning curve. So, when you have time...
- The "Preview" and "BBCode" tabs in the lower left hand corner allow you to preview your post or if you are skilled at HTML programming, to see the actual code. Preview is what most people use.
- When you are all done with your post, consider making a backup copy and then click on the "Create Post" button in the lower right hand corner. It is a good idea to have a copy of a time consuming post before you click on the Create Post button.
- When you click the "Create Post" button the copy you created in the "Create Post" window is sent to Proboards and copied onto the Forum. If the connection is busy, is bad or fails your post will not reach the Forum and will not be saved by ProBoards. You can easily try again if you have a backup copy by pasting your copy into another "Create Post: window and clicking the "Create Post" button.
- If you post as a guest you cannot edit or add to your post. If you post as a member you can edit, delete or add to your post at anytime.
