New Rakela Restraining Order Hearing - March 23, 2018
Almost 4 months after a restraining order was filed by Kathleen Rakela the County District court has scheduled a hearing. The four hour hearing will commence at 10 AM on March 23, 2018 in the County court house on 414 East Callender Street in Livingston. All are invited to attend.
In 2017 every Glastonbury landowner eligible to vote was disenfranchised. Subsequently the GLA Board offered to toss every ballot and start fresh so Kathleen Rakela would not have to run as a write in candidate because of her untimely covenant violations. Rakela refused the generous offer made on the backs of all landowners and so the costly lawsuit drags on.

Both sides have until October to try and settle their differences through negotiation. If they are unable to do that the court will schedule a trial which could easily last into 2019.
Will Glastonbury landowners finally get a chance to vote then? One aspect is clear; part of our assessment dollars will go towards Rakela legal costs for at least the next year.
