June 2018 Election Candidates Litigants Run for the GLA Board The deadline has passed and the candidates for the "make-up" 2017 annual election are up and running. A few of the candidates have or are currently suing the GLA Board. If elected they could be in the position of using landowner funds to further their personal legal ambitions. One candidate is the subject of Temporary Restraining Order by the GLA. It is not clear how she will be able to attend meetings if elected.
Two candidates, Ed Dobrowski and Clare Parker, are a mother and son team which appears to violate the GLA conflict of Interest policy. They have joined with Kathleen Rakela in suing the very board they want landowners to elect them to.
Official County Court document reveals that candidates Rakela, Clare Parker and her son Ed Dobrowski are all suing the GLA Board. The June 2018 "make-up" election is to make up for the cancelled 2017 annual election in which all landowner ballots, except proxies, were nullified. Running for North Glastonbury Director are:Debbie DeGraaf Charlotte Mizzi Val O’Connell Richard Johnson John Carp Claudette Dirkers Paul Rantello had submitted paperwork to run but abruptly withdrew his candidacy shortly after. He was found by the Board to be "not in good standing" because he violated the covenants by erecting buildings within the required setbacks. For North Glastonbury OmbudsmanLinda Ulrich Christal O’Connell Running for South Glastonbury Director are:Kevin Newby Dennis Riley Mark Seaver Clare Parker Ed Dobrowski Kathleen Rakela Running for South Glastonbury Ombudsman are:Jerry Ladewig Mariam Barker[/font][/div]

How do people run for the board of directors when they are suing the board? That seems pretty lame to me. Are these people idiots?

Utter lunacy! How can anyone serve the GLA without prejudice while suing the GLA or while under a restraining order by a court? What sort of directors do you think any of these four people will make? Their past deeds prove their rancor and ineffectiveness within the GLA. To vote for any of them is a vote for more chaos!

The official district document above, names seven out of twelve directors as defendants, "individually and as Board Members."
This is serious business folks and a flagrant conflict of interest to boot.
