AN OPEN LETTER TO THE GLA BOARD

NOW THAT THE ELECTIONS ARE BEHIND US...
I am writing as an individual landowner, not as a member of the GLFPC, so those directors who have an inclination to demonize the GLFPC please refrain from doing so. Demonize your critics, if you must, at your own spiritual peril. No one should be above man's law. More importantly, no one should be above God's law, which includes the Ten Commandments and the Golden Rule. As Glastonbury is a “spiritual” community, you should not have to be reminded of this.
To begin healing this community, members of Church Universal and Triumphant who have venomously opposed and demonized non-members against God's law must cease immediately. Furthermore, there must be acceptance and inclusiveness of non-CUT landowners in the operations and management of the GLA. Those in leadership roles both on and off the GLA board are responsible to lead the way.
Now is the time to begin anew, or Glastonbury will continue to become Dysfunction Junction. A truce must be declared and terms discussed and adopted. Who among you will take the lead?
All directors serve the association in an elected, public capacity and are subject to legitimate scrutiny and accountability (there's that word again) by their constituents. It is wrong to claim being held accountable is harassment. If all directors would adopt the code of conduct first proposed by Kevin Newby most, if not all, of the complaints against them would never materialize and this association will move closer to the harmony and peace we all want.
We landowners have been lied to, over and over, by certain directors. This must stop!
Many passages in the Bible rebuke the general concept of lying.
1 Timothy 4:2 - Those who depart from the truth speak lies in hypocrisy.
Proverbs 6:16-19 - God hates a lying tongue and a false witness who speaks lies.
Exodus 20:16 - You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
Psalm 40:4 - Those who love God do not respect those who turn aside to lies. People want friends they can trust and rely on. If you want good people to respect and trust you, don't lie.
One of the saddest forms of deceit is self-deception. People who don't want to face reality can sometimes convince themselves to believe things that they really know are not true.

To move forward to that goal of peace and harmony, please take these comments to heart. Earn the respect you desire by your actions. Lead with strength and integrity, and know we will all support you and be grateful for your unbiased and equitable service to ALL landowners. If you instead choose to maintain the status quo, be assured you will continue to be exposed and held accountable.
