Best and Brightest Leave; Litigants and Spring 2018 Losers Run Again
The 2018 Fall Campaign is underway for candidates vying to win a spot on the 2019 Glastonbury Landowner's Association (GLA) Board of Directors. Noticeably absent from the fall lineup were accomplished and hard working directors Leo Keeler and Regina Wunsch. Long term sitting directors Dan Kehoe and Charlene Murphy chose not to run as well.
In North Glastonbury Newman Brozovsky, Gerald Dubiel, Valerie O'Connell and Ronald Price are running for three open spots on the GLA Board. Linda Ulrich is running unopposed for North Glastonbury Ombudsman.
In South Glastonbury Ed Dobrowsky, Ken Hurley, Jerry Ladewig, Clare Parker, Kathleen Rakela and Andrea Sedlak are competing for three open GLA Board seats. Miriam Barker is running unopposed for Ombudsman in South Glastonbury.
Valerie O'Connell, Ed Dobrowsky, Clare Parker and Kathleen Rakela are all litigants against the GLA in current and/or former lawsuits. All ran in the spring of 2018 and lost by a wide margin. Jerry Ladewig ran for Ombudsman in the spring of 2018 and lost to Miriam Barker. In 2016 Ladewig ran for director and received fewer votes than any other candidate. Valerie O'Connell won the prize for overall candidate with the fewest votes though. In the spring 2018 election just one person voted for her.
Andrea Sedlak is the wife of sitting Director Mark Seaver. They reside in Maryland and spend a few months a year in Glastonbury. Mark is the current Board Secretary and served as Treasurer for several months until Regina Wunsch accepted that responsibility. It is not clear who will be the next GLA Board Treasurer.
When candidate bios are ready we will post them.
