Yellowstone Super Volcano - A Dud... New Calamity Needed to Justify Glastonbury Bomb Shelters
End of world folks and alarmists were convinced that the increase in earthquakes in Yellowstone was a sure sign that the world was coming to an end...at least for Glastonbury. Some old timers even believed that Glastonbury would break away from Paradise Valley and in three days drift to the South Pacific. Livingston would become a seaport and Glastonbury a tropical island. The faithful who hid in their bomb shelters would emerge unscathed. According to South Glastonbury landowner Walter Wunsch, High South past SpecTec would remain in place. At least one landowner breathed a sigh of relief for he does not care for moving or living on an island with CUT followers.
The super volcano scenario looks like a dud. Another calamity will have to be invented so the ubiquitous Glastonbury 4 million dollar bomb shelters do not appear like youthful foolishness.
A new study shows that much of the swarm of Yellowstone earthquake activity is related to the 1959 massive 7.2 Hebgen Lake earthquake.

Glastonbury will still come to an end. It's demise as a spiritual community of Church Universal and Triumphant (CUT)faithful began in 1998 when CUT opened the land to private ownership. 2018 and 2019 have seen many newcomers purchase land and build homes in Glastonbury. It is only a matter of time until the new owners demand decent road service and look to the county to dissolve the GLA. But that is another story for another time.
