The Bozeman Chronicle reports "A Livingston print shop is expanding, doubling the size of its plant.
A large employer for Bozeman and Livingston, Printing For Less will unveil its new new production and warehouse space in mid-July, according to a news release. That will bring the total size of its building to 101,000 square feet."
Printing For Less was started by a Church Universal and Triumphant(CUT) follower, Andrew Field. Field currently lives in High South Glastonbury where he has resided for many decades. The story we were told by an old time resident who lives near Mr Field was that CUT ran a large publishing operation when they moved from California to Montana in the 1980's. The leader of CUT, Elizabeth Clare Prophet, wrote profusely and often received communications she claimed were from from Jesus, Confucius and Buddha. Many of these "communications" were written by her, published and then sold by CUT. According to the neighbor, Mr Field learned the printing trade while in CUT. When EC Prophet, who claimed she could accurately predict the future, declared that Armageddon was approaching rapidly and instructed her followers to build bomb shelters, special consideration was given to the publishing operation. Expensive, custom made printing presses that could operate in a post-apocalyptic environment were purchased. When the apocalypse failed to materialize, or was prevented by successful decrees, CUT was left with a few ultra-expensive printing presses. Field used those presses to start Print For Less in Livingston the neighbor contends. Many old time residents of Glastonbury have found employment at Print For Less.
Printing For Less has certainly come a long ways since those days and now it appears poised to take another big step forward.
