Saturday Crash on Route 89 Brings Death and a Miracle A horrific accident happened on Saturday afternoon in the northbound lane of Route 89 between Mill Creek and Pray, Montana. According to the Montana Highway patrol the tractor was heading north on 89. A Livingston man and his infant, secured in a child seat, were in the tractor. A large construction truck with two men in it started to pass the tractor. Then the tractor turned left and the vehicles collided. Shortly thereafter Jason and Brittni Mayfield came upon the accident scene. They wrote on social media:
The driver of the tractor was apparently buried underneath the truck and pile of twisted metal. The infant was thrown clear of the crash while securely strapped into the child seat. The tractor driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The infant survived with injuries. Both men in the truck were transported to Livingston with injuries.
Route 89 from Pray to Mill Creek was closed well into last evening. Traffic was diverted to East River road.
