Local meeting to focus on virus preparedness The Livingston Enterprise reports: "How prepared is Park County to combat the novel coronavirus?
And what steps should be taken to improve the area’s ability to respond to the virus?
Those are some of the questions that will be discussed during Thursday’s regular meeting of Park County’s Local Emergency Planning Committee, or LEPC.
The meeting, which is open to the public, is intended to identify the community’s current level of preparedness, identify any gaps and prioritize next steps to be taken, said Greg Coleman, director of Park County’s Office of Emergency Management".

"The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s latest guidance on the coronavirus for high-risk and older Americans asks people to be prepared to stay home, just in case.
The CDC held a media telebriefing on March 10 to provide an update on the health protection agency’s COVID-19 response. Dr. Nancy Messonnier, director of CDC’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, stated that there is a risk of getting very sick or dying from illness with the novel coronavirus, which is capable of spreading easily and sustainably from person to person. Although the CDC does not expect most people to develop serious illness, 15 to 20% could, she said".

Livingston’s Senior Center, Health and Rehab, and Frontier Assisted Living suspend non-essential visits The Livingston Enterprise reports: "The Park County Senior Center, Livingston Health and Rehab, and Frontier Assisted Living have suspended non-essential visits and are postponing all community gatherings until further notice as local health officials prepare for the eventual spread of coronavirus into Park County.
And beginning Monday, Senior Center Executive Director Becky Bird said the doors to the facility will be locked in an effort to protect residents of the facility from being exposed to coronavirus".

Bullock declares state of emergency in Montana over coronavirus The Bozeman Chronicle reports:
"Montana Gov. Steve Bullock on Thursday said he signed an executive order declaring a state of emergency in Montana in response to the coronavirus.
There is not a confirmed case in the state, though a part-time Montana resident traveling in Maryland was diagnosed with the virus Wednesday.
The order comes as sporting events around the state were canceled and the university system announced it would be moving to online classes for the rest of the school year".

Montana colleges go to online classes due to coronavirus threat The Bozeman Chronicle reports:
"The Montana University System took a dramatic step Thursday by canceling in-person classes and moving most instruction online starting March 23 “until further notice” in response to the coronavirus threat.
No cases of the virus have been reported yet in Montana, but Commissioner of Higher Education Clay Christian wrote that protecting “the health and safety of our campus communities remains our top priority.”
