Zoning discussions to resume in Park County The Livingston Enterprise reports:
"Park County planning officials were given the green light Tuesday to continue discussions on proposed countywide zoning, but not until they’ve completed mandatory training.
The Park County Commission voted 2-1 Tuesday to allow the Planning and Development Board to resume its discussions on a proposed document to create countywide zoning, known as the Draft Conflict Mitigation Zoning District and Regulations.
Commissioners earlier this year put those discussions on hold because of the public’s inability to gather and participate in meetings on the topic due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Commissioner Clint Tinsley on Tuesday voted against moving forward with zoning discussions amid the pandemic, saying the public would need robust opportunity to comment on the issue.
But Commissioners Bill Berg and Chairman Steve Caldwell said they believe precautions are in place to ensure the public has the ability to safely participate in meetings.
“I think it’s important that we find a way to keep moving and not stop,” Berg said."
