Project Review Motions Used to Circumvent GLA Board Meetings Project Review applications are considered critical business that the GLA Board must tend to quickly. They must first be approved at a Project Review Committee meeting and then, if approved, go to the full board at a regular monthly meeting. Since January Project Review applications have been decided in secret by GLA Board email votes. Neighbors and other landowners have been denied the monthly Board meeting opportunity to learn about or comment on pending Project Review applications. Director Brockett opposed this process and refused to approve Project Review applications until landowners were involved.
On March 31, 2021 Project Review chairman Gerald Dubiel created a motion to approve a North Glastonbury landowner's Pole Barn and Garage. Director Mizzi immediately seconded the motion and voted yes. Director Brockett replied:
Brockett's comments may have hit a nerve. No further votes were cast and the motion failed.
