In Person GLA Board Meetings Cancelled Due To Violent Threats?
On Thursday August 11th, 2021 at a GLA Project Review Committee meeting a landowner asked when in-person GLA board meetings would again be held. GLA Secretary Charlotte Mizzi informed the landowner that multiple "toxic" mailings had been sent to landowners and that violence had been threatened against the board. The landowner asked if the Sheriff had been notified. Mizzi did not respond to that query.
In an email exchange on August 13 Mizzi stated " No one threatened me directly. I stated that more than 15 letters were mailed out by Joe Bezotsky, your friend who was at the meeting, That the letters created a toxic environment and a landowner reportedly said he would bring a gun at the next GLA landowner meeting".
Mizzi was immediately queried by a director who asked:
Mizzi refused to answer any of the above questions.
For the immediate future it appears that all board meetings will be by phone and Zoom only so no one gets shot.

You stated that a landowner sent out 15 letters that you felt were toxic to the community.
Do you have any evidence that can show the letters were "toxic"? Or were the letters simply critical of you and the GLA board?
Did the letters incite violence or urge anyone to "bring a gun to a board meeting"? I received several letters from a landowner and none contained poisonous or violent content. Several asked landowners to email or call the board and express their opinions.
So you took a statement that was partially true and added your opinion. Then you jumped to a totally unsupported and false conclusion that because of the letters, someone threatened to bring a gun to a meeting. Therefore no board meetings could be called because the danger was so high.
Who is this person who supposedly threatened the board by stating that they were bringing a gun to the meeting? Have you reported him or her to the Sheriff? Since all members of the board were in imminent danger, why did you not share this critical information with them?
How long have you believed that someone was going to bring a gun to a board meeting? You took a gun safety course last fall. Do you have a concealed gun with you when you attend board meetings? How about Newman Brozovsky or Gerald Dubiel? Is this why meetings are held in your home? Or why you want meetings held in Liberty Hall instead of the more open, clean and public space of Emigrant Hall?
