Montana Supreme Court Orders GLA to be Dissolved
In an April 1st surprise decision the Montana Supreme Court today ordered that the Glastonbury Landowner's Association (GLA) be dissolved. The court stated, "Enough is enough. The corruption and criminal actions of some GLA directors have to end. The landowners have suffered tremendously and they need relief". The court also requested that state and federal authorities finally investigate the $5,000.00 that was removed from a GLA bank account by Director Mizzi and then transported across state and Federal borders.
The dissolution will be finalized in 90 days.

The dissolution will be finalized in 90 days.
The Supreme Court of Montana ordered that:
- Church Universal and Triumphant sell all of its properties in Glastonbury within 1 year. Church and state are to be legally separated in Glastonbury.
- Park County step forward with a plan to assist Glastonbury landowners with an Rural Self Improvement District (RSID) to develop and maintain the roads in the community.
- State and Federal authorities investigate Director Mizzi for her key role in removing landowner funds from a GLA bank account and transporting them outside the US to Malta.
- The petitioners for dissolution be fully remunerated for their lawsuit expenses against a corrupt and dysfunctional GLA.
- That Judge Gilbert's convoluted order turning control of the GLA over to attorneys be withdrawn.
The Forum spoke with Director Charlotte Mizzi regarding the court ruling. She loudly proclaimed her innocence and blamed the missing $5,000.00 on former Treasurer Mark Seaver. "Seaver stole that money and then tried to blame me" she furiously stated. When asked for proof Mizzi said "I do not need to provide you or anyone else with proof. I am a minister and my word comes from above".
The Dissolution lawsuit crew was delighted with the court's ruling. Director Andrea Sedlak said, "finally justice has been served for Glastonbury landowners". Former GLA President Dennis Riley spoke next saying "I wish I could have been President of a South GLA but I will settle for President of the new RSID". Former Treasurer Mark Seaver stated, "I hope they lock Charlotte Mizzi up for 20 years. She has harmed landowners and held back our community for far too long". Everyone was happy that the $50,000.00 plus they spent on the Dissolution lawsuit would be fully reimbursed.
Not everyone was jubilant. Director John McAlister described Director Mizzi as a kind-hearted soul who was simply in the throes of dementia brought on by old age. He reasoned that what she did was criminal but because of her decaying brain she should just be hospitalized, not jailed. McAlister also described former GLA President Newman Brozovsky as "a nice man". McAlister also complained that he has been unfairly accused of maintaining two sets of books in his role as Treasurer. " I am an ethical and honest person" he exclaimed.
Many GLA directors were pleased that Park County was ordered to assist Glastonbury landowners with implementing an RSID; a Rural Self Improvement District. Tim Brockett stated "An RSID could bring our roads up to County standards and pave most of the network. Property values could double when the project was completed. Amortized over 20 years with a 3% state issued bond, the project could cost each parcel under $500.00 per year". He added "Glastonbury landowners have paid millions in property taxes over the years. It is about time the County realizes how valuable we are and cooperate so we can further improve our roads and properties".
Several board members quietly applauded the overturning of Judge Gilbert's ruling. One said, "the ruling was a travesty. It gave almost all of our power to attorneys and then forced landowners to pay for grossly overpriced services". Another complained that "Judge Gilbert simply punted when she could have brought true justice to Glastonbury. She failed the community completely".
When asked about Church Universal and Triumphant being required to sell all of their property in North Glastonbury one director said "The church started this community as a cult. They broke local laws from the beginning and that is why Park County sued them in 1993 and won. They deserved to lose their property in Glastonbury. I think the community will benefit greatly from their lack of influence". Another stated "The church was always corrupt and that corruption infected both South and North Glastonbury. CUT land is gone from South and we have done well. I am sure North will prosper too once CUT influence has waned".
The dissolution will finalize in 90 days. Legal details are being worked out as this article is written. Funds will be divided up between North and South Glastonbury. All past due assessments are canceled and no new assessments must be paid.
Director Mizzi has offered to safely hold all funds allocated for North Glastonbury. Director McAlister was offered oversight of South Glastonbury funds but he declined stating "when everything is over I will have a bonfire where I will happily burn both sets of books, er..I mean, all GLA financial records". Oversight and safe keeping of South Glastonbury funds will go to Walter Wunsch. Wunsch has promised to use all the money to repair Polaris between his home and SpecTec. "Finally I will be able to drive on a paved road from home to work" he gleefully added.
It is a happy April 1st or All Fool's Day for many landowners in Glastonbury. Dreaming is once again possible.
