Gold bearing rocks
Recent well drilling on private land in the center of North Glastonbury has turned up gold-bearing rock fragments. Like the rocks pictured above, the unmistakable traces of gold-coated crystals within the rock chips was seen. An unusual amount of crystals were brought up from the deep private water well. The driller speculated that he had tapped into the edge of a large underground crystal formation that was laden with gold. The land he was drilling sits next to 176 acres that is owned by Church Universal and Triumphant in the heart of North Glastonbury. If the well driller is correct hundreds of millions of dollars in gold and crystals could be buried a few hundred feet or so below the surface.

Gold in Glastonbury?
Rock crystals form when water, combined with heat flows from various points underground. Small deposits are usually near the tail end of a much larger mother lode as shown above. Future well drilling on the CUT 176 acres should indicate the direction of water flow and thus give an idea of where the mother lode of gold is located. That could be anywhere in North Glastonbury that is within a mile or two of the CUT-owned 176 acres. Or the lode and crystal cave could sit under the 176 acres.
Gold currently sells for about $1,700.00 per ounce. An ounce nugget will fit in the palm of your hand. Gold has been discovered and mined throughout Paradise Valley. A gold mining effort was put on hold for Emigrant Peak. Will the court intervene to preserve the land in North Glastonbury? Or will private landowners be allowed to mine the rich crystal caves for their benefit?
Some may call this a fool's gold article because today is April 1st. Others may decide to fire up the backhoe and dig their way to untold wealth.
