Fraud and GLA Annual Elections - Like Ice Cream and a Cone The Glastonbury Landowner's Association (GLA) Annual Election is frequently marred by fraud. 2022 promises to bring more of the same. Recently a postcard was received by many Glastonbury Landowners that notified them of a new website titled "The Glastonbury's" at gla-mt.org. The site looks like an official GLA website and contains much of the same reference information like Minutes, Project Review information, and frequently asked questions. It sports the official GLA logo in the upper left-hand corner and contains a payment link to the GLA Paypal account. Scrolling down the page is a barely noticeable disclaimer in light blue that states "THS IS NOT THE OFFICIAL GLA WEBSITE AND THE OPINIONS EXPRESSED HEREIN ARE SOLELY THOSE OF THE GLASTONBURY LANDOWNERS COMMITTEE". The Glastonbury Landowner's Committee was the organization behind the fraudulent letters sent during the 2020 GLA Annual Election falsely claiming that several candidates were removed from the ballot.
Much of the Glastonbury's website material was lifted directly from the official GLA site at www.glamontana.org. The only action taken to date is an emailed letter from Attorney Swandal sent to some Glastonbury landowners on June 21, 2022. A copy is below.
![](http://www.timslife.com/Forum/2022/2022-0621sw.png) No warning was given to landowners NOT to use the website's Paypal link. Landowner funds and credit card information may be at risk.
A search on ICANN for gla-mt.org shows that the domain name was purchased on April 23, 2022. All of the domain contact information was marked as private and thus not available without a court order.
This is a developing story and we will be closely following it.

Who Is The Group Behind the Fraudulent GLA Website? The disclaimer on the gla-mt.org website is signed by the "Glastonbury Landowners Committee". No such committee exists on the Glastonbury Landowner's Association (GLA) board. But Forum readers may remember that it was the Glastonbury Landowners Committee that disrupted the 2020 GLA Annual Election by mailing fraudulent letters stating that several candidates were removed from the ballot. Suspected of being an inside the GLA job, the letter set off a firestorm that ended with the Annual Election being postponed. The same group appears to be trying to disrupt the 2022 Annual Election by creating a fraudulent website and expressing election opinions that appear to be coming from the GLA. To date, they have taken the position that the GLA should not be divided into two separate organizations. The official GLA position is neutrality which allows landowners to vote their conscience. It is expected that the fraudulent site will endorse specific 2022 candidates once they are known.
The gla-mt.org website contains a forum and the second URL of MyGla.org. If you type MyGla.org into your browser's URL bar you will go to the MyGla.org forum. It is also accessible from the gla-mt.org website. Hover your mouse over the Landowner Resources and click on Member's Forum from the drop-down menu.
MyGla.org has an interesting past in Glastonbury. Back in 2014 it was used for a website that posted opinions about the GLA. A photo at the top of the home page was copyrighted by Val O'Connell. A caption on the photo reads "MyGla.org Together we are the GLA!". That appears to be an attempt to impersonate the legitimate GLA website. The GLA Lawsuits section contains many comments that are favorable to the O'Connell lawsuits against the GLA. The Legal Documents section contains many official GLA documents such as the Covenants, Master Plan, Project Review instructions, and other GLA copyrighted material. The MyGla.org website continued until 2017 and then disappeared. You can visit an archived copy of MyGla.org here.
The new gla-mt.org website appears to be a new and improved version of the older MyGla.org website. Both appear to impersonate the official GLA website and illegally use GLA copyrighted material. The owners of the domain names are unknown today. The GLA may be able to remove the shroud of secrecy via their attorneys. As details emerge we will report them.
