Tim here...
James did turn control of the Forum over to Mark Seaver. To be fair Mark shared the login and username with both Leo and I. However I am concerned that if any GLA Director has access to the administrative panel the GLA could exert control over the Forum. Posts could be censored, members banned and with the click of a button the Forum could go private again. As I stated in a previous email government should not have any controls over free and civilized speech. So I set up another Forum simply titled "Glastonbury".
I have the technical expertise to build websites, administer forums, etc. I am perfectly willing to abide by the wishes of everyone on this list.
I think that we could have a lively Forum that would be open to everyone. It would also be a repository of ideas that anyone could look back to; a reference work. We would need moderators for the various subjects; roads, Governing Docs, Community Property, etc. Anyone can be a moderator. It would be up to the group to decide upon rules. No swearing, no ads, etc. Moderators would start various subjects and guide the discussion. Inappropriate posts could be marked and then the group could decide what to do with them.
Almost all of the fresh ideas have come from the landowners in the last two years. Hopefully Board members will participate but I think the Forum would be valuable even with minimal Board participation.
My position would simply be as administrator. Like Chris is the administrator of the GLFPC web site. If a majority of you are ever unhappy with my work I will give anyone you designate the Login and password.
Let me know if you have questions or comments.
Tim
