As The Messenger reports, the 70-year-old actor was cited in U.S. District Court for "foot travel in a thermal area" and a "closure violation" at Mammoth Terraces after reportedly entering the off-limits thermal area. The exact date of the incident wasn't immediately clear, although an initial court appearance in Wyoming already occurred, with another set for Jan. 23, 2024.
He has been filming the movie Unholy Trinity in the nearby area. "

Brosnan, 70, was cited for "foot travel in all thermal areas and w/in Yellowstone Canyon confined to trails" and "violating closures and use limits," according to the U.S. District Court of Wyoming docket.
The "Mamma Mia!" actor is set to appear at the Yellowstone Justice Center in Mammoth, Wyoming, on Jan. 23.
The citations, which are listed as petty offenses, were given to Brosnan on Nov. 1 but not filed in court until Tuesday, Fox News Digital confirmed."

Pierce Brosnan pleads not guilty to walking in a thermal area at Yellowstone National Park KBZK reports "Actor Pierce Brosnan has pleaded not guilty to charges in connection with his allegedly walking in a restricted thermal area of Yellowstone National Park late last year.
The "James Bond" star's not-guilty plea was confirmed in a court document filed on Jan. 4, 2024, in the U.S. District Court, District of Wyoming.
The incident allegedly happened on Nov. 1, 2023. Two citations were issued on Dec. 26, 2023.
The first citation claims that he violated rules regarding “foot travel in all thermal areas and within Yellowstone Canyon confined to trails.”
The second citation claims that he violated closures and use limits in the park.
A hearing scheduled for Jan. 23 was vacated, and Brosnan's next hearing is scheduled for Feb. 20 at 1:30 p.m. at Yellowstone Justice Center in Wyoming via teleconference."
