The Forum Supports GLA Board Transparency
Dear GLA Board,
The Forum supports the Project Review Committee idea to post all landowner projects on the GLA website and to require that adjoining landowners be notified. That said, we have noticed a general reluctance by several Board members to allow landowners to see documents that the GLA produces. In the past the GLA Board was adamantly opposed to posting official minutes and financial statements online. However the Forum does not share those apprehensions and now has the largest, publicly available archive of GLA Board minutes and financial statements. We recently passed our 55,000 page view since last November. Readers are fascinated and they continue to access the Forum in record numbers.
Perhaps the Project Review Committee should simply post landowner applications on the Forum. They are welcome to do so. We have everyone's address and most emails. Thus it would be easy for us to quickly notify neighbors of any impending project.
After the Forum refused to take down GLA official minutes and financial statements the GLA Board decided to post them on their own site. It appears that you agree with the Forum that the best interests of landowners are served when they have access to all pertinent information.
In closing I would like to remind every director that Montana State law allows them to access any and all GLA records.
Sincerely,
Tim Brockett SG 88A
