Hundreds of dead Whitefish are floating in the Yellowstone River A lot of dead, floating and starting to smell Whitefish were discovered by river guides along the Yellowstone River from Pine Creek to Livingston. Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is investigating and has taken samples. No one knows yet why the fish died. The water is getting low and warm. That means there is less oxygen for the fish to breathe. Pollution could also be a cause. Or maybe a widespread outbreak of some fish disease. Read the full story here.
