Vacation Rentals - A good deal for Glastonbury? Vacation rentals can bring in $200.00 to $500.00 per night depending upon how many people the place can accommodate. A well outfitted rental home can easily bring in $40,000 of income during the year. The Forum knows several landowners who rent out their entire home during the summer months. Some homes in Glastonbury have even been built primarily as rental homes. They contain one large kitchen, one large living room and many more bedrooms than is normal. Additionally they have a landlord's room where supplies are stored. One current GLA Board member owns one but does not rent it out.
Some folks we know have built new homes that they plan to retire to in 5-10 years. Until then they rent the home during the summer and around holidays. The income they generate is more than enough to pay for the mortgage, taxes and upkeep. Other folks just want to vacation out here 6 weeks a year and they rent their Glastonbury home at other times.
The city of Bozeman is currently debating the issue of rental homes. Eric Dietrich, a Bozeman Chronicle Staff Writer penned the following article. Many of the arguments also apply to Glastonbury.
