John Carp for North Glastonbury Ombudsman I have been a chiropractor for 30 years, 12 years in Paradise Valley. I have served on a health center Board of Trustees and on three different Teaching Center Boards for Church Universal & Triumphant, and was President on each board.
As ombudsman for GLA, I would hope to facilitate better communication among members and the board. I would also hope to bring a higher degree of professionalism to the board, committees, and their meetings.

It has become known that you are not and never have been a landowner in Glastonbury. Yet you are running for position of NG Ombudsman. We understand that you are an agent or representative of an entity owning a parcel-namely the local teaching center of Church Universal.
A growing number of landowners are questioning the legality of the way in which you have become a candidate. It may very likely be in direct conflict with the governing documents of the GLA. Your viability as an Ombudsman candidate might potentially become null and void. This must be further investigated.
Please advise.

We, The Forum, have checked the GLA Landowner list and the Park County Cadastral. John Carp is NOT a landowner in Glastonbury. While the Bylaws do allow for an agent of a corporation to hold office this is another instance of a disturbing trend. Two GLA Board members currently serving do not own land here either. Our sense is that the Bylaw regarding corporate agents was written so if an incorporated business owned land then that corporation's Board of Directors could chose someone to run for the GLA Board. This is a matter that the 2017 GLA Board should address.

With little to no involvement in GLA business, how is it that certain individuals think they would be effective directors, should they be elected?
