Candidate News - Tim Brockett Campaign Letter
Mailed to all South Glastonbury landowners on October 14th, 2016
Mailed to all South Glastonbury landowners on October 14th, 2016
Tim Brockett - Candidate for the GLA Board in South Glastonbury
Over the past several years I have been blessed to work with many bright, articulate and thoughtful members of our community. Working with other landowners I have:
There is an opportunity to institute long-term planning and improved oversight for our roads and financials. Much work needs to be done before our roads can be properly maintained and assessments lowered. Our financial records must be simplified, adhere to standard accounting practices and be understandable for all landowners. Over $200,000.00 in past due assessments must be collected and the payment compliance rate must increase. Our minutes must accurately record meetings and actions. Our newsletters must contain real news.
I can assist in creating a new day for the GLA, but I cannot do it alone. I ask you to vote for me and other new candidates, who will bring fresh ideas to the GLA and have proven that they are willing to work hard to implement them.
If you are not familiar with the candidates please consider sending me your signed Proxy Vote. I will add my name and those of the best qualified candidates, and submit it at the Annual Meeting on November 12, 2016. Every vote counts and your vote or proxy will be greatly appreciated.
We cannot accept cash, but donations of first class letter stamps will be used for campaign mailings.

- Created a Comprehensive Road Plan, complete with funding alternatives, for all of Glastonbury. My plan would reduce assessments, improve collection to 100%, spread the cost over twenty years and bring ALL Glastonbury roads as close as possible to Park County Standards. To date the GLA Board has not adopted any long term road plan.
- Improved communication between landowners and the GLA Board by creating the Glastonbury Community Forum at glastonbury.freeforums.net/ The Forum is an online resource landowners use to stay informed of GLA meeting dates and actions. The Forum is also a gathering spot for landowners where they read meeting minutes, summaries, pose questions, post ideas, share via social media and leave comments. Over 65,000 pages were viewed in the first 10 months.
- Addressed the problem of election ballots NOT being secret. I helped to design a system that was implemented by the GLA Board and insures that the 2016 GLA Election Ballots will be confidential. Voter names will NOT be on the ballot and a double envelope system further protects your privacy.
- Attended countless GLA Board and Committee meetings and strived to bring needed changes to Glastonbury. Many landowners have in-depth and detailed knowledge of Landowner Associations and how they ideally work. I will continue to work with all landowners to present solutions to the GLA Board.
- Proposed a Road Maintenance Plan in the spring of 2016 that would distribute fresh gravel and grading for ALL unpaved roads in Glastonbury. Many roads that had not seen maintenance for several years, even a decade, received some gravel and grading. Unfortunately, the program was not well managed, which resulted in gravel shortages for sections of Glastonbury.
