High South Snow Report December 15th, 2016 12:30 PM The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Paradise Valley and surrounding areas. 8-14 inches of snow through Friday afternoon is predicted.
The snow started last night in High South and has continued lightly into today. Currently it is 34 degrees and a mix of snow and rain is falling. By Saturday the temperature is expected to be well below 0. As colder air pours into the valley the precipitation will turn to all snow and could accumulate quickly. That is expected to happen overnight and into Friday. The skies will clear by Saturday as bitter cold air from Canada pushes out the warm, moist air from the south and west.
Before this storm and since late November High South received about 12 inches of snow. Another 1-2 inches has fallen since last night. Road conditions are extremely slippery as wet snow and rain falls. I will head to the Post Office later this afternoon and will give a road update when I return.
Drive safely and be careful.
