GLFPC Summary now available for the GLA January Board Meeting. Key Points Include:
- The newly elected GLA president introduced his meeting protocol, which now allows landowners to be more directly involved.
- One landowner urged this board to make equality and transparency hallmarks of their service. She emphasized the need for an end to the “us vs. them” thinking of the board.
- Dobrowski’s board position came into question due to his alleged violation of board procedures while working as a contractor on a landowner’s construction project.
- The work to collect delinquent assessments remains hindered until the Governing Documents and Legal Committees complete their preliminary legal business.
- Treasurer Mark Seaver will attempt to have accurate 2016 financial reports completed by the February board meeting.
- Dobrowski was also confronted for micromanaging the snowplowing contractor, with whom the GLA has a new two-year contract.
- Yet again, the board denied Dobrowski’s insistence that the GLA needs to buy a new snowplow truck.
- The current lawsuit against GLA is expected to be covered by the former liability insurance policy. The plaintiff is the real party of interest to a previously filed, virtually identical lawsuit.

Val O'Connell Responds... Please correct the Jan 2016 Board meeting notes that said, Christal O’Connell’s lawsuit is "previously filed, virtually identical lawsuit.” This is a lie & easily proven false below:
According to GLA Attorney, the 2015 amendments (from case DV-11-114) are the only thing similar to Christal’s case DV-16-188. GLA attorney then falsely claimed these 2015 amendments are "previously filed, virtually identical lawsuit.” This is false, because the 2015 amendments (for 114 case) were NEVER filed in any court, and are not identical!
It is easily proven that these 2015 amendments were never filed and not “ identical.” As proof, these 2015 proposed amendments are from the Plaintiffs' "2015 motion to file and amended complaint” (Dec 2015) from the 114 case. Late amendments like these one require judge’s permission before it can be filed officially. This amended complaint was never filed, because the judge refused to file it. So the court considers it never filed. As more proof, there is a court docket that shows the proposed motion to file the 2015 amendments was never officially granted nor filed. Also the GLA website list of case filings for 114 also shows this motion to amend Dec. 2015 was dismissed by the final court order June 2016 (now on appeal).
Thus the never filed 2015 amendments were NOT “previously filed” as the only thing similar to Christal’s case. Yet the GLA attorney also said that this 2015 amendments are "virtually identical lawsuit.” This is a lie and easily proven false too, since these amendments never made it into the 114 lawsuit. As proof the June 2016 order dismissing the 114 lawsuit only considered the 2012 amended complaint! Since the court never let us amend the 114 complaint after discovery, this is grounds to appeal and reverse that 2016 order.
Thus to say "previously filed, virtually identical lawsuit” is a lie perpetrated by the GLA attorney in order to take more insurance money for the new lawsuit.
But they will eventually be found out. Sincerely, Val O'Connell

March 13th, 2017 GLA Board Meeting Documents now available Meeting agenda, 2017 financials and more are available for downloading by scrolling to the top of this thread. All 2017 publicly available Board Meeting documents will be posted above as they become available. February GLFPC Meeting Summary Now AvailableKey Points Include:- A landowner queried why committee meetings were now moved back to Liberty Hall after it was announced at the previous month’s board meeting that, “WE are no longer wanted at Liberty Hall.” And why are we now being charged to have meetings where we were told we were not wanted, when we were offered a meeting place at no charge.
- The 2017 GLA Budget shows that 60% of it is allocated for roads. The other 40% is for administration and overhead expenses.(Why is an association of fewer than 400 members spending $48,000 on administration and other overhead expenses?)
- Though promised months ago, there has been no action to install a landline phone at Emigrant Hall for better reception and ease of participation by the non-resident treasurer and interested landowners.
- Per research by Leo Keeler, GLA's liability insurance only covers GLA when it services GLA roads. This raises questions about whether GLA should continue paying to snowplow non-GLA roads, such as Dry Creek (a county road) and the roads leading into and through Golden Age Village (GAV, a private subdivision, which is not part of GLA). Fact-finding will continue.

GLFPC Summary now available for the GLA March Board Meeting. Key Points Include:
- In what was a peculiarity, a flock of 15-20 people seated themselves all at once in the audience. Only a scant few were actually GLA property owners.
- By the recommendation of landowners, the Communications/Technology Committee is forming an advisory subcommittee to research professional business training to educate board members.
- The treasurer will no longer create the financial reports for the monthly meetings. The board voted to reassign the responsibility to the hired bookkeeper.
- In a surprise maneuver, Road Committee Co-Chair Paul Ranttalo floated the idea of getting a half-million dollar bank loan to resurface failing paved road in North Glastonbury (NG).
