High South Road Report - February 9th, 2017 We received 5 inches of snow on Tuesday evening. This was on top of two inches we received over the weekend. When I left for Bozeman in the morning, at 11 o'clock only one set of tire tracks broke the deep snow on Sagittarius Skyway. Upper Hercules was not plowed either. Surprisingly Hercules from SpecTec to Dry Creek was also not plowed. The considerable traffic generated by SpecTec had packed down much of the snow. Dry Creek was plowed and 89 was almost snow free. At least the County was doing their job.
When I came back from Bozeman at 8 PM Hercules from Dry Creek on was still not plowed. Libra was a solid sheet of snow. Past SpecTec Hercules and Sagittarius Skyway remained just tire tracks in the snow.
Today, Thursday February 9th it is raining and from my window I can see that Sagittarius Skyway is still not plowed. The snow is turning to slush and when everything freezes the road will be treacherous and almost impassable.
More rain and snow is predicted for the weekend.
