...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY AFTERNOON
THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING...
* WHAT...Heavy snow and blowing snow possible. Travel will be very
difficult to impossible. Total snow accumulations of 12 to 16
inches, with localized higher amounts, are possible. Blowing
snow will dramatically reduce visibility along with creating
large snow drifts.
* WHERE...Portions of Central and South Central Montana.
* WHEN...From Thursday afternoon through Saturday evening.
Heaviest snowfall will be Thursday night through Friday night.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Significant reductions in visibility are
possible. Cold wind chills as low as 30 below zero will cause
frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant
snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel. Continue
to monitor the latest forecasts.
