Just Moved to Montana? This may validate your decision... In a humorous article the Daily Mail ranked the best and worst states to live in. As a former Connecticut resident I was not surprised at my birth state standing. Montana did not get ranked for unknown reasons. One person stated that we were too busy being chased by bears to fill out forms!
Connecticut used to be a wonderful place to live and raise a family. The towns were small and formed close knit communities. Everyone knew each other and there was a spot for everyone. The economy was good and industry thrived. That all changed in just 20-30 years starting in the 1970's. Taxes kept spiraling upwards, industry moved elsewhere and two distinct economic classes formed; the poor and elderly who depended upon government and the very rich. The middle class was hollowed out as government expenditures ballooned and good paying jobs left the state. A permanent lower class dominated the cities and illegal immigrants took the minimum wage jobs from local residents. Crime soared and those who could leave the state often did.
