Debbie Degraaf for North Glastonbury Director I currently work at Medcor in Yellowstone National Park as a medical receptionist. The specific skills, qualifications, and interests that I believe will assist me in serving as a GLA Board member are organization and the ability to listen objectively to landowners. Having owned my own business for a number of years in Emigrant, I have an exceptional work ethic. In my past careers I have worked as a teacher & restauranteur. If elected to the board my main interests, as well as what I hope to accomplish, are the upkeep and maintenance of the roads and the collection of landowner dues.

Debbie Degraaf is an excellent choice for Glastonbury Director and if elected will set a new bar for existing members.
I have known Debbie for almost a decade and frequently visited her former business, Howlin Hounds Cafe in Emigrant. The cafe was well run; neat, orderly and clean. The food was delicious and the employees were courteous, respectful and helpful. Debbie trained them well and was meticulous in the running of her business. Customers were happy and the business thrived. Howlin Hounds was a classic American success story where hard work, diligence and attention to detail were woven together to create a wonderful and successful business.
Years later Debbie Degraaf worked with GLA Treasurer Rudy Parker to help collect past due assessments. Debbie patiently called a long list of landowners and listened to many sob stories and angry comments. Coming from the world of business, Debbie intuitively understood that the GLA must be run like a business and that the customer is always right. Debbie's persistence, hard work and strong conversational skills brought in over $10,000.00 of past due landowner assessments. Unfortunately the GLA Board missed a subsequent opportunity to appoint Debbie to the Board when another member resigned.
The GLA sorely needs Debbie Degraaf and her well honed set of skills. Debbie is a proven leader and business success via Howlin Hounds. She is also a diligent and patient hard worker who carefully listens to others and gets the job done.
I will be voting for her, via proxy, this Saturday. I urge you to do the same.

I will second Tim's motion to vote for and elect Debbie to the GLA board! As Tim describes, she is a diligent, honest, no-nonsense, and thoughtful leader. We sorely need more people like her and Claudette on the board, not just placeholders who do little except vote the party line!
