Report from NOAA.GOV:
HYDROLOGIC OUTLOOK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BILLINGS MT
234 PM MDT Wed May 16 2018
Temperatures will continue to warm through Thursday causing
additional mountain snow melt. River levels along the Clarks Fork
of the Yellowstone, as well as the Yellowstone River near
Livingston will rise through Friday. Scattered showers and
thunderstorms can be expected through Friday. This additional
rainfall combined with mountain snowmelt will result in continued
high river levels. Much cooler temperatures are expected Friday
and Saturday which will slow the rate of mountain snowmelt
allowing river levels to decrease briefly.
Residents along these rivers should be prepared for rising water
levels, and move equipment and livestock away from the river.
There may also be bank erosion along the rivers. Do not walk near
river banks as the underlying soil may be eroded. In addition, if
encountering flooded roads, Turn Around Don`t Drown.
If flooding is observed, please report it to local law
enforcement and have them relay the information to the National
Weather Service in Billings.
