101 degrees and climbing at 3:15 PM in High South On Saturday August 11th, 2018 the mercury is at 101 degrees Fahrenheit and climbing. Our elevation is 6,300 feet and the summer temps are usually about 8 cooler here than in Paradise Valley. This is the hottest we have ever seen it up here except during the Big Creek fire in July of 2006. That inferno raised temperatures to well over 1,000 degrees and melted double pane glass windows and aluminum gutters. How hot is it were you are? Anyone up to frying an egg inside a parked car or on a sidewalk?
This level of heat can be dangerous and we urge everyone to stay inside a building and in front of a fan or air conditioner. Drink plenty of water too so your body can cool itself via perspiration.
