Kathleen Rakela Settles Her Lawsuit Against the GLA On the 12th of September 2018 Kathleen Rakela settled her 2017 lawsuit against the Glastonbury Landowners Association (GLA). It is not clear what the final cost to landowners will be. The total is expected to easily be over $25,000.00.
At one point Val O'Connell wanted to be included with the lawsuit. The court turned her down. However two current candidates for the GLA Board from South Glastonbury, Ed Dobrowski and his Mom, Clare Parker both signed on to the lawsuit for awhile.
Undeterred by their momentous loss in the spring 2018 election Kathleen Rakela, Ed Dobrowski and Clare Parker are all running for the GLA Board again this fall. It remains to be seen if the voters have forgiven them enough to elect them to a position of trust and fiduciary responsibility.
Andrea Sedlak, Jerry Ladewig and Ken Hurley are also running in South Glastonbury for the GLA Board. When candidate bios are available the Forum will post them.
Lawsuits are very expensive and Glastonbury landowners have paid dearly for them over the past 10 years. The GLA lost it's legal liability insurance and must now finance lawsuits 100% from landowner funds.
