High South Snow Report Nov. 24, 2018 11:24 AM The temperature is currently 36 degrees and rising. Three inches of moist snow has fallen in High South Glastonbury. Light flurries are expected for the rest of the day. High South roads have not been plowed yet.
High South roads above SpecTec were not plowed when 3 inches of snow fell from the last storm on November 17th. As a result the roads narrowed considerably and the snow was packed down by passing vehicles. Several warm days have melted bare patches in some spots while creating ice layers in less sunny areas. Most of upper Hercules is a sheet of ice and compacted, ice glazed snow from SpecTec to Sagittarius Skyway and Sagittarius Place.
Warm, above freezing temperatures are predicted for this coming week. Snow, possibly mixed with rain is scheduled for Wednesday.
In an email exchange this morning GLA Board President Dennis Riley promised that High South roads would be plowed this afternoon.
Please be careful and drive safely.
