Mountain States Gaining Population Montana May Get Another Federal Representative The Hill reports "The United States Census Bureau released its annual state-by-state population estimates for 2018 in late December. It highlights migration trends across the states and sketches a picture of looming political changes that will take place after the complete census of 2020."
The article goes on to correlate economic policies of states losing population to the states gaining population. Blue or politically liberal states like New York, Illinois and New Jersey are losing citizens while red or politically conservative states with lower taxes like Utah, Nevada, Idaho and even Montana are gaining citizens. States with no income taxes are gaining the most citizens.
