Small, 3.8 magnitude quake felt in Livingston Johnathan Hettinger — Enterprise Staff Writer pens
"Just before midnight, a 3.8-magnitude earthquake struck near Manhattan late Thursday, according to the U.S. Geological Service.
The quake, which happened at 11:44 p.m. Thursday, could be felt in Livingston, according to the USGS and many Facebook posts. The quake could also be felt in Bozeman and Big Sky.
According to the Richter magnitude scale, earthquakes between 3.0 and 3.9 very rarely cause damage but are often felt by people.
More than 100,000 earthquakes of that magnitude occur each year worldwide."
