North Glastonbury Platted Roads and Mileage
When the community of Glastonbury was created a road system was designed to reach every original parcel. The roads generally ran along the edges of adjoining parcels and at some point, touched every original parcel. These were called "Platted Roads" and are depicted on the Master Plan original road maps. Most platted roads ended with a 90 foot turn around. As Glastonbury grew large original parcels were sub-divided into many smaller divisions of land. Original roads were extended and many new roads were built. ALL of the extensions and new roads are known as sub-division roads and it is the responsibility of the developer and/or the land owners to maintain and plow those roads. Thus the total mileage of roads that the GLA Board is responsible for has remain fixed. The total mileage of each platted road is as follows:
* Note 1: All of Sirius and Aries were built outside of the GLA platted easements. Until they are included in the GLA easements Glastonbury landowners are NOT obligated to maintain or plow them. Information current to May 2017.
Golden Age Village Area - Road Easements
Red dashes are Private Roads
Green dashes are original GLA Platted Road Easements
Yellow dashes are prescriptive easements created by non-contested use. Both red and yellow dashes represent roads that are NOT covered by the GLA Covenants and thus Glastonbury landowners are not responsible for maintaining them.
Note how the original GLA easements circle behind the soccer field and up towards Jupiter Way.

North Glastonbury Gravel Roads:
* NOTE: Gemini Road was traditionally maintained and plowed to service the sole resident on Caspari Way. Maintenance ceased when those residents moved in 2012. Most of Caspari Way is very rough and needs serious work. Some GLA plowing is done but it is difficult due to the unimproved nature of the roads. All are platted roads so they are included in the tables and graphs.
* NOTE # 2: Golden Age Village(GAV) per the Covenants is a part of Glastonbury and it's roads are NOT platted. It comprises part of parcels 3 and 4 in North Glastonbury and is described as a Mobile Home Park with 49 lots in the Covenant appendix Exhibit A. Church Universal and Triumphant owns the two parcels and pays the GLA 49 resident assessments every year. The GLA has traditionally maintained and plowed the roads within GAV: Helios Way, Vesta Lane, Helios Circle and Vesta Circle. GAV has it's own community water and septic system. The gravel portion of Sirius is also NOT part of the GLA platted road network.
Platted Road mileage for both North and South Glastonbury:
A BIG thank-you to Chris Williams who patiently recorded NG road mileage data, carefully explained snow plow routes and provided detailed information which made this analysis possible. Thanks also to Charlene Murphy who patiently analyzed the NG and SG Road Mileage pages and offered several excellent suggestions based on her decades long knowledge and service to our community. Thanks also to Leo Keeler who patiently researched GAV area roads and provided an excellent aerial map.
