Almost 100 Glastonbury Parcels are Ineligible for Ballots
In a stunning turn of events over 90 Glastonbury parcels are past due on their assessments and the owners will not be allowed to vote in the Annual Election. Statements were sent out well ahead of the October 31st due date. Landowners were told in multiple mailings that if they did not pay their assessments in full by October 31st, they would be ineligible to vote.
The GLA Board broke from two long standing traditions in 2017 based on the 2016 election recount and fiasco.

- The Board voted to no longer accept payments at the annual meeting that would allow a delinquent landowner to vote. October 31st was set as the cut off date for payments and voter eligibility. Delinquent landowners can still pay their past due bills at the Annual meeting but that will not restore their privilege to vote.
- Many landowners own multiple parcels and thus have multiple ballots; one for each parcel. In the past multi-parcel landowners were provided a ballot for each paid up parcel. Now they must be paid up on ALL parcels they own to receive a ballot.
By our calculations 95 parcels will not be allowed to vote. Several parcels have past due amounts of less than $10.00. One parcel owed just 10 cents.
There are approximately 400 parcels in Glastonbury. The past due and ineligible voters make up about 25% or 1/4 of the voter pool. A little over 200 votes were counted in 2016. That total could be much smaller in 2017.
One implication is that every vote will be critical. If you have not voted yet PLEASE do. You can vote by Proxy right up until December 2nd at 8 AM Mountain time. Click here for more information and instructions.
